A photographer, a video guy, and an avid tweeter go on an all boys Euro trip. Chad, Matt and Jon are (as we speak) on an epic adventure across Europe, we caught up with them to find out exactly how someone goes about planning a full on Euro trip. From experiencing their first drop of alcohol from the inside of a castle in Ireland to documenting the breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps, here’s what they had to say:
Why did you decide to take this trip?
Chad: When I was younger I knew I’ve always wanted to travel to Europe, regardless of the country. Also, combining my young dream with my passion of photography is pure heaven. This trip would change me emotionally, culturally, spiritually and any other – all you can imagine !
How do you guys know each other?
Chad: Jon and I met while interning at Disney in Orlando, Florida back in 2009. This acquaintance blossomed into an everlasting friendship and also creative collaborator! I met Matt through Jon (Jon and Matt have been friends since beginning of college).
How did you choose which destinations you wanted to visit, and why?
Chad: It was a known fact from the get go that we would visit Ireland first because Jon has had a life long dream of consuming his first alcoholic beverage in an Irish Castle. He has achieved this at Clontarf Castle in Dublin, Ireland and is glad he kept his alcoholic virginity til now. Also, Ireland is a heritage haven; this we could not pass up. While organizing each country and the itinerary we broke up the research by giving one country to each person. Jon had Ireland and Italy, Matt had France, I had Switzerland and Germany. I chose Switzerland as my country to research because I felt the Swiss Alps would be my new photographic utopia. I’m getting chills just thinking about gazing upon those deep valleys and high ascended mountains. Germany is my heritage and family background.
What are you most looking forward to on this trip?
Chad: The thing I’m most looking forward to is experiencing the Swiss alps. I’m super excited to immerse ourselves in this environment and capture as much as I can.
If you could give someone one piece of advice when planning a trip like this, what would it be and why?
Chad: I would say book your train tickets early so there’s no headache during the journey.
