Cycle Around Rottnest Island

A short ferry away from Perth is the stunningly untouched Rottnest Island. Rent bikes and a helmet, buy picnic food and be on your way. You can cycle around the whole island in a day and you are guaranteed to find a secluded beach to enjoy all to yourself. Look out for the little quokkas, a native (very cute) rat like marsupial.

Watch the Sunset at Cable Beach

A whopping 22km stretch of gorgeous white sandy beach 6km West of Broome, Cable Beach is not one to be missed. This place is known for its sunsets, so grab a few beers and watch the sun come down. Spectacular!

See Dolphins at Monkey Mia

There is nothing quite like seeing dolphins in the wild! Head to Monkey Mia, where these magnificent creatures have been gracing the shore line for over 50 years. Arrive in the morning when the dolphins are pretty much guaranteed to make an appearance.

Spend an Afternoon on Shell Beach

Western Australia is packed full of postcard white sandy beaches. Shell Beach is slightly different in that it is one of the only beaches in the world that is made up entirely of tiny shells! Such a beautiful and unique place.

Explore the Pinnacles

The pinnacles are a great natural wonder, and just a 3 hour drive North of Perth. There is a small fee to get into the National Park, but once you are in you can drive yourself around these moon-like rock formations. Turn the music up, roll the windows down and be sure to get out the car for lots of selfies among this awesome landscape.

Snorkeling at the Ningaloo Reef

Boasting some of the best snorkeling in Australia (and therefore the world) Ningaloo Reef is alive with over 500 species of fish and over 200 species of coral! Head to Coral Bay for some incredible snorkeling right from the beach. Keep your eyes open for the magnificent whale shark, the largest fish in the world (and entirely safe to swim with… phew!)

Wine Tasting in Margaret River

Margaret River is a vibrant town full of trendy cafes and boutique stores. The only problem is, once you arrive you will never want to leave! The surrounding areas are a mixture of stunning coastline and lush vineyards. Go for an afternoon’s wine tasting for a civilized (and delicious) experience.

Beachin’ on Greens Pool

Quite possibly one of the most picturesque beaches in Western Australia, Greens Pool is like a gigantic natural swimming pool. The water is so still and clear, with large grey boulders sprinkled through the sea. Take a picnic and spend the day swimming, playing games on the beach and exploring this unusual, dreamy bay!

Walk Above the Trees in Denmark

They Valley of the Giants tree top walk is not one for those scared of heights! Walk 40 meters high among the tree tops of the Tingle Forest and you really do feel like you are part of the wildlife. The view will literally take your breath away.
