  • Day 1-2 Blue Duck Conservation Lodge

    Located in the Ruapehu district on the banks of the Whanganui and Retaruke rivers, Blue Duck Station is a nature lover’s paradise! Seeking to conserve endangered wildlife, increase the health of the native bush and river and preserving the history of the area, you’ll spend two days outside, breathing in the fresh air and falling in the love with the natural landscapes. You’ll head out on a bush safari to see the remains of the unbelievable local history, learn all about the tireless conservation work, and even get to observe every day life at a sheep and beef station, from sheep shearing to cattle mustering! Kayak through the gorge at the base of the Kaiwhakauka Falls and go in search of the Blue Duck! It’s true – great things (or in this instance, trips) do come in small packages.
