Itinerary
Day 1: Split to Zagreb Departing Split we have a beautiful morning driving along the Croatian coastline with a dramatic change in the landscape as we head through the rugged Dinaric Alp Mountain range. Use this time to get to know your Busabout crew and fellow trip mates! On arrival in Zagreb, the Croatian capital, meet your Guide for an orientation walk of this city and then have the afternoon to explore. If you want a twist between Berlin, Vienna and Sarajevo, Zagreb is the city to visit. This evening we meet in the hotel reception and head out for dinner followed by sampling some of Zagreb’s kitsch bars.
Day 2: Zagreb to Lake Bled One of Europe’s most magnificent journeys, from the Croatian coast to the Alps. On our way to Bled we will cross the border into Slovenia! We will have a stop in the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, where you get to see the famous Dragon and Triple Bridges and grab a bite to eat. We arrive in Bled early afternoon and head off for a walk around the lake and its environs. Explore the lake, or maybe take a row out to the church perched on an island and ring the bell for luck. Tonight you are at the foot of the southern Alps in an oasis surrounded by mountains, lakes and really great people. Join us for dinner tonight at one of our favourite local restaurants!
Day 3: Lake Bled Stock up on a hearty breakfast as this day is dedicated to nature and cool activities in the magnificent Slovenian Alps. We recommend the Emerald River day trip where you will swim, raft and adventure your way through waterfalls, mountains and searing peaks, before an evening dinner. We have great friends here in Bled and they take pride in offering you the best food and alpine experiences you can get.
Day 4: Lake Bled to Bratislava Today we are heading to Bratislava, the Slovakian Capital.. Once in Bratislava you head out on an orientation walk of the beautiful new and old towns. You’ll have some free time to explore before meeting the crew for an optional dinner. There are so many great places to eat; one of our favourites is the Bratislava Beer Palace. After this we’ll head to some of the best bars.
Day 5: Znojmo Today we head to the beautiful Czech town of Znojmo. This authentic town is yet to be discovered. It’s compact old town, is filled with historic buildings and a multitude of viewpooints to look out over its majestic setting. The nearby Podyke National Park offers stunning natural scenery and hiking and cycling opportunities.
