  • Day 1 Delhi

Arrive in Delhi at any time. On arrival, transfer by a Planeterra-supported project, Women on Wheels. This program provides safe and reliable transport for travellers, while providing a dignified livelihood for a local woman from a resource poor community.

  • Day 2 Delhi (1B)

After breakfast depart on a private city tour. Explore Old Dehli and visit the stunning and historical Jama Mosque, the ornamental Red Fort and the Raj Ghat, a moving memorial to Mahatma Ghandi. Also visit the new landmarks stopping at India Gate, the Government buildings, and Qutub Minar victory tower.

  • Day 3 Agra(1B)

You will be picked up in the morning for your transfer to Agra (approx 5 hours), home of the Taj Mahal where we take a tour to this amazing world wonder and the city.

The Taj Mahal is truly one of the wonders of the world. See it at it’s best at sunrise – the light playing on the marble of the tomb and the reflections in the stillness of the waters present this incredible building in all it’s glory, majesty and grandeur. The Taj Mahal is a monument to love built by the Emperor Shah Jehan as a tomb for his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. For 22 years 20,000 men laboured day and night to build this masterpiece which the world has held in awe ever since. There will also be time for a visit to Agra Fort. TAJ MAHAL is closed on Fridays.

  • Days 4-5 Jaipur (2B)

Over the next two days you visit key sites with tours of Fatehpur Sikri, Amber fort and Jaipur city tour.

The drive from Agra to Jaipur (approx 5 hours) will be interspersed with sightseeing along the way, resulting in almost a full day of travel. The magnificent deserted Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 but had to be abandoned after 15 years owing to scarcity of water. Some of the many attractions at Fatehpur Sikri are Jama Masjid, a beautiful building featuring elements of both Persian and Hindu design. The main entrance is through the 54m high Buland Darwaza, the Gate of Victory, constructed to commemorate Akbar’s victory in Gujarat. The whole complex is an excellent example of Mughal architecture.

The Amber Fort, a superb example of Rajput architecture, is stunningly situated on a hilltop overlooking Maota Lake. One of the most spectacular buildings contained in the fort is the Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors). With its walls completely covered with tiny mirrors, it becomes a dazzling fantasy with the light of a single match. The pink city of Jaipur is blessed with a wealth of wonders. Here you see the pink, delicately honeycombed sandstone windows of the Palace of the Winds, the Observatory and the Maharaja’s City Palace. The bustling bazaars of the old city are a great place to shop and explore – remember to bargain hard! In the evening, you have the option of visiting the opulent Raj Mandir Cinema and catch a Hindi movie. Your driver will provide transport to and from the cinema and you pay your own entrance fee.

  • Day 6 Delhi (1B)

Today you will drive back to Delhi, where you will be dropped at your hotel. If you are departing Delhi today it is recommended you do not book your onward flight until after 3pm.
