Tour style – Local Living, Wildlife & Nature

3 days

Step off the beaten track and discover Thailand at its most authentic! Spend three days touring local Thai villages, hiking around sprawling and lush fields. You’ll tuck into delicious traditional Thai cuisine and soak in steamy hot springs. It’ll be easy to uncover just why Thailand is so many people’s favourite travel destination!
  • Day 1 Chiang Mai / Thatorn

On your first day, travel to Thatorn, visiting the Fang district en route (and tuck into a traditional Thai lunch at a local restaurant – the food is as good as you’ve always imagined). Feel like James Bond on a motorboat journey along the Kok river, pausing to visit a Karen hilltribe village, before stretching your legs on a two hour uphill hike to Lahu village. After a busy day, it’s time for a dinner before hitting the sack at Lahu village.

  • Day 2 Chiang Rai

Make sure you fit in time for breakfast – you’ll be starting the day with a two hour hike and a visit to a beautiful waterfall. Refuel with lunch at an amazing elephant camp before going for a ride atop these majestic animals for about an hour and a half. Continue on foot to an Akha village where you can tuck into a much-needed dinner.

  • Day 3 Chiang Saen / Chiang Mai

Take a short walk to a traditional Shan village and hop onto a local truck to the main road. Head to Chiang Saen, located on the Golden Triangle. The former capital of the Lanna kingdom, traces of old city walls and many other antiquities still remain there today! Eat lunch at a local restaurant and then continue on to Chiang Mai, with a stop off at the hot springs. This adventure ends at 5pm in the bustling city of Chiang Mai.
