Tour style – Trekking/Hiking, Wildlife & Nature

5 days

Take to the hills in this northern Thailand adventure! Spend five days getting a taste of the real Thailand – trek through remote villages, learn local secrets to jungle survival, curl up in authentic bamboo huts and race down rivers in your own hand-constructed raft. Stroll through a stunning orchid and butterfly farm – you’ll feel like you’ve entered another (fantastic!) universe! And all that fresh air will do you wonders (your mother was right).
  • Day 1 Chiang Mai

On arrival, be whisked off to your pre-booked Chiang Mai accommodation and the remainder of the day is yours to explore the charming city. Too jet lagged? Just laze by the pool.

  • Day 2 Chiang Mai

After a tasty breakfast, hop on a Songthaew (an open pick-up truck) and head off on a three hour drive north- the hours will fly past in a blur of beautiful countryside. After a much-needed lunch, embark on a two to three hour trek through tropical forest to the night’s village camp. Pack light for the upcoming two day hike because you’re going to be the one carrying it (and there are no airport attendants to lend a helping hand). In the afternoon, wander around the village and even help rustle up tonight’s dinner where you’ll have time to talk to the locals about their intriguing way of life. In the evening even sleep like a local on authentic floor mats in a cosy bamboo hut.

  • Day 3 Chiang Mai

Time for another exciting day of hiking to the next local hilltribe village! Refuel with lunch then continue on discovering the village and talking to the locals. After a delicious meal in the evening, collapse in a happy heap in a bamboo hut.

  • Day 4 Chiang Mai

On your final trek day, breathe in that fresh countryside air and enjoy another scrumptious lunch in one of the local villages before you hop back on the trusty Songthaew and begin the journey back to Chiang Mai. No bamboo huts tonight – there’s a pre-booked hotel in Chiang Mai waiting for your arrival.

  • Day 5 Chiang Mai

After a busy couple of days, sleep in before taking advantage of the free time you have in the city. Hit the shops and do some last minute sightseeing before check out at 12pm – it’ll be hard to tear yourself away.
