8 days

The wise traveller knows that the best way to get under the skin of a destination is to hunker down and stay awhile. This 8-day trip lets you dig deeper on the beautiful Croatian island of Krk. You’ll share your base—a cluster of old stone homes with beautiful interiors and a big terrace with a barbeque—with other like-minded travellers but are free to explore any way you want. Witness wine-making and olive oil processing, cycle to Roman ruins, hit the beach or head out on day trips to nearby islands.
  • Day 1 Zagreb

Meet in Zagreb and transfer to Gostinjac. There will also be a later meeting point in Rijeka for anyone who prefers to meet there. The group will then travel together to Krk Island. Your home for the week is a cluster of fully equipped old stone houses with beautiful interiors on the island of Krk; the property has a swimming pool, bowling court, large terrace with a barbeque, sitting area and a sundeck.

  • Day 2 Gostinjac (1D)

Dig into the included starter kit of breakfast essentials and local delicacies to start your day off right. Do as much or as little as you want during your time here. Lounge in the pool to escape the daytime heat or get out and explore. Enjoy a traditional dinner with some of our local friends tonight.

  • Day 3-7 Gostinjac

Options abound for your time here. Set off on foot, bicycle or bus to explore the towns on the island which include the old medieval town of Krk complete with Roman castle, fishing villages and beach towns. Tour a wine or olive oil production facility during the proper seasons and be sure to sample some, too! Take a day trip to other nearby islands and snorkel the Adriatic Sea. At the end of the day, you’ll come back to a beautiful home abounding with peace and tranquillity.

  • Day 8 Rijeka

Transfer back to Rijeka with the option to stop by medieval Hum, known as the smallest town in the world. By legend, it was founded by giants building neighbouring towns; they decided to use the remaining rocks to build Hum. Arrive in Rijeka at 11am. Your CEO will help with onward travel. Nearby major international hubs include Zagreb, Venice, Trieste, Ljubljana, Rijeka and Pula.
