Night markets, the epic Taipei 101 and the delicious dumplings (move over Shanghai, there’s a new dumpling king in town!), sounds like a pretty epic trip right?
So epic, we decided to giveaway all of the above in our #TasteofTaiwan competition. We went on the hunt for awesome travel buffs and shutterbugs and over 4000 entries later, we found our winner. A big congrats to Godwin Polendey aka @ohsnapisaac.
Here’s 10 quick questions with Godwin – stay tuned to see more from him on his travels!

2. Why do you love travel?
I’ve always been curious about the world especially because I live in a small island in the middle of the Pacific. My curiosity has made me love exploring, going to new places, meeting new people and learning about their culture.
3. What made you want to enter the #TasteofTaiwan sweepstakes?
I entered #TasteofTaiwan because I thought it would be a good way to learn about Taiwan and its culture. They say that you learn about a culture by eating their food, so I’m ready to indulge in lots and lots of culture…
4. What are you most looking forward to experiencing in Taiwan?
I’m so excited to check out the night markets that Taiwan is famous for. Bring on the street food!
5. What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to so far?
My favorite place has to be El Nido in the Philippines. The jagged limestone mountains and turquoise water backdrop makes the place feel so magical and surreal.

6. What’s your #1 travel tip?
Pack light! It makes traveling so much easier especially if you’re always on the go.
7. Hotel or hostel?
I prefer hostels because you meet so many people from all over the world.
8. Solo travel or group trip?
I like going on solo travels because it helps me get to know myself and what my strengths and weaknesses are. It also forces me to make friends along the way so I never feel alone on my travels.
