Tour style – Wildlife & Nature

3 days

This three day tour around the Western Cape has packed in all the highlights! Take stunning country routes between Cape Point and Cape Agulhas and explore the southern tip of Africa. You’ll take in the sights of the area’s amazing wildlife, from adorable Cape fur seals and penguins to ostriches and baboons. You’ll sample some of South Africa’s greatest wines and get a taste of South African culture at Kayamandi, and all in three days – a blur of incredible experiences!
  • Day 1 Cape Town / Stellenbosch

You’ll be picked up in the morning and the first stop is Hout Bay to wander around the charming craft markets or to just chill out at the beach. Opt for a Duiker Island cruise to witness a large colony of Cape fur seals before hitting the road along the spectacular Peninsula on Chapman’s Peak Drive – the coastal scenery is incredible! Next up is the Cape of Good Hope nature reserve. A nature lover’s paradise, zebras, elands, ostriches and baboons all call it home. Continue on to Cape Point, a nature reserve within the Table Mountain National Park (and a declared Natural World Heritage site!) for some more amazing scenery and wildlife before making your way to Stellenbosch, one of South Africa’s wine producing regions (and you should definitely take advantage of its buzzing nightlife!).

  • Day 2 Cape Agulhas

Take a guided tour about the vibrant Kayamandi township to get a feel for the area then head over to the Winelands for cheese and wine tasting – there’s no better pairing! Keep going with the eating and drinking theme (and who would complain) with a port and chocolate tasting session then stop off at Franschhoek for lunch (if there’s any room left in your stomach). It’s onwards and downwards to Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa, where you’ll be staying the night.

  • Day 3 Hermanus / Cape Agulhas / Cape Town

You’re in for an exciting morning – Great White shark cage diving in Gansbaai anyone? If you’d rather stay far away from shark-filled water, you can always relax in the stunning coastal town of Hermanus. If you’re lucky enough to travelling between June and November, you’ll get to see majestic whales swim past! At beautiful Betty’s Bay get up close to a colony of over 5,000 African penguins in their natural habitat then take the scenic route along the False Bay coastline on Clarence Drive back to Cape Town – your South African adventure has come to an end.
